First, let me congratulate the NHSA team for putting together a great plan. As associations go, NHSA has a very small staff, so it is a testament to their commitment to support what we do that every bit of the plan was put together in-house!
Second, please get the word out about the anniversary to everyone! Download the toolkit and use the logos everywhere you can. Make sure your programs, partners, funders, and friends - everyone in your network - know about our plans.
Finally, please get involved! There are opportunities for everyone in every program to celebrate our good work! We have had fifty years of great success to be very proud of! Let’s make sure everybody in the country knows about our successes. And let’s look forward to fifty more years of success! If you are planning your own events, let us know (email@example.com). The NHSA staff will put them on their web site and in the monthly 50th Anniversary Newsletter.
Red, White and Blue Day - Wednesday, September 17th!
Our first local, simultaneous event will be Red, White and Blue Day on September 17th! On that Wednesday, I urge Head Start programs across the country to join NHSA in a celebration of Head Start pride by wearing Red, White and Blue. Children, teachers, staff and parents are all encouraged to wear Red, White and Blue to help celebrate Head Start’s 50th Anniversary. Then take photos in front of your Head Start program in your red, white and blue attire and share them with NHSA on Facebook, Instagram or via e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. Let’s show the world our Head Start pride!
This is a grand moment in the history of Head Start and I know I can count on you to make this a grand celebration!
